Steel Storage has been the leading solution provider to the Asian market since 2003, so we know that self-storage works in this booming market. We have seen Asia’s property prices increase year on year and consumerism seems to be an unstoppable force as more and more of Asia’s four billion inhabitants move steadily towards the middle-income class. With it comes a transition to modern living and self-storage is a proven and necessary part of this modernization.
Many of Asia’s current self-storage facilities were started by entrepreneurs from Australia, the USA and Europe, but Asian entrepreneurs are catching on now. All of them see the similarities with the development of self-storage in established markets outside Asia – the parallels are there. In some Asian countries the self-storage market is so mature that large investments are being made and the first portfolio sales are starting to happen with $100s of millions in transactions already completed.
Sharing information at the Expo
15 years ago, Steel Storage was instrumental in establishing the first tradeshow in the UK with a number of expert trade companions and some enthusiastic self-storage operators. This event has since developed into the European Self-Storage Conference attracting some 250 delegates from across the region who come to learn and exchange ideas.
We think it’s time to repeat this concept in Asia and show everyone who is interested what is happening with this exciting new self-storage investment opportunity in Asia. We will gather some of the leading experts in the market to share their views and advice. In addition to our design, manufacture and construction capabilities for partitioning and door systems, we have:
• Property agents
• Self-storage management consultants
• Suppliers of access control and security systems
• Operational software developers
• Lock and merchandise providers
We found equally enthusiastic self-storage operators and investors from Asia, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the USA excited to attend, speak and share their stories.
All our speakers have a wealth of experience in self-storage ownership, investment, development issues and operations and we’ll also have round-table sessions for more in-depth discussions. Whether you are new to self-storage, have just started self-storage or are a veteran with interests in doing self-storage in Asia, we aim to answer all your questions during the course of the expo. Nowhere else will you find such an experienced collection of resources on the subject of Asian self-storage.
Together with the support from some of the leading vendors like SiteLink, PTI Australasia, Chateau and Cushman & Wakefield, we aim to make this event the meeting place for new investors and operators, established operators and interested investors.
