ByBox teams up with Big Yellow Self Storage to expand UK network

Increased technology has enabled us to manage just about every aspect of our lives whilst on the move at any time of the day or night irrespective of where we are. Pioneering delivery company ByBox is already at the cutting edge of technology in providing a solution that enables consumers to receive their goods without putting their lives on hold. In a move that will enable ByBox to further expand its footprint across the UK, the company has teamed up with self-storage provider Big Yellow Self Storage as part of a £2 million programme that will see its innovative locker solution expand throughout the UK. Locker installations at Big Yellow Self Storage sites have already commenced with nine sites already live in Camberley, Hounslow, West Norwood, North Kensington, Battersea, Birmingham, Fulham, Sutton and Watford. Further sites are planned. Founded in 1998, The Big Yellow Self Storage Company has 76 sites across the UK all of which are located in well-lit, easily accessible locations, with ample free parking. Both established leaders in their fields, ByBox and The Big Yellow Self Storage Company recognise that the modern pace of life means that people often live their lives on the move – a change in lifestyle which needs to be catered for. The partnership between the two companies gives consumers a choice in how they receive their purchases and enables them to collect a delivery from a convenient location when it suits them; on their way to work, near their home or while they are carrying out their daily duties rather than having to wait in for a delivery and is the perfect solution for both retailers and consumers alike. Furthermore it is such thinking that has led to the unprecedented success of Launched in 2010 the locker solution allows consumers to collect their parcels from one of ByBox’ 400 locker locations in the UK, conveniently located at retail parks, supermarkets, shopping centers, petrol stations, railway stations and now self storage sites. The lockers are easy to use and are reminiscent of a bank ATM. The partnership with Big Yellow Self Storage will enable ByBox to further accelerate its roll out programme which Alexandra Korda, Consumer Director of ByBox describes as an exciting development. She commented: “We are delighted to team up with Big Yellow Self Storage in a move that will allow us to further expand our service offering to customers across the UK. “We recognise that each and every one of our customers – whether a business or consumer – wants to collect their parcels with minimal impact on their life. By teaming up with an organisation, such as Big Yellow Self Storage, that thinks along exactly the same lines as we do, it enables us to further enhance our service offering which we believe is already at the forefront of modern-day deliveries.” Tom Wilcockson, Head of New Business Development at Big Yellow sees the relationship between the two companies as a natural fit. “This is an exciting move for Big Yellow Self Storage and a win-win for both us and ByBox. Our modern, purpose built stores provide both domestic and business customers with unrivalled security, access and convenience and we believe that teaming up with ByBox will raise further awareness of both companies products as we seek to continue meeting the ever-increasing demands of modern life.” Founded in 1998, Big Yellow Group Plc is the UK’s strongest and most innovative self storage brand, providing the best facilities at easy to find, high profile locations with an unwavering focus on customer service. The Company has been recognised by The Sunday Times in their 100 Best Companies to Work for 2012 and has been awarded The Carbon Trust Standard, FTSE4 Good, Best Green Companies 2011 and The Queens Award for Enterprise 2012.
