Minico2Money management really boils down to two things. How much I have got coming in and how much is going out. Normally we are able to control what’s going out a whole lot easier than what’s coming in. It takes knowledge, experience, planning, discipline and more importantly work. Hard work.

When I was younger, I know I made some foolish financial decisions and I learned from them, I hope. Today, now that I’m older and hopefully a better manager of my resources I try to equip myself with as much knowledge as I can before making financial decisions.

My personality causes me to worry about making timely payments, saving and investing wisely and having a nice nest egg. This is the same regardless if it’s on a personal level or with my businesses. Having a budget and sticking to it is a major step to financial stability. Here we are a couple of weeks into the second quarter and it is a great time to look back at the first quarter and compare the reality to the budget. Did I accomplish my goals? Were there unexpected or should I say unplanned for expenses? If there is a difference maybe it’s time to look over the discrepancies. This is the time to decide “Do I need to cut the fat?” or “Do I need to build more revenue?” Whatever the case, now is the time to build that strategy to finish the year at or under budget.

Remember, you are in business to do what? That’s right, make money.
