Fifty jobs will be created with the possibility of 50 more in the works as the result of a Georgia based  Janus International deciding to build a manufacturing plant in Butler, Indiana so it could be close to the supply of steel from the nearby Steel Dynamics plant.

Janus International makes steep roll-up doors and building components designed for self-storage, industrial and commercial door dealers. The new plant is expected to be operational by the summer.

The company will invest $650,000 to lease, equip and renovate the Butler location. As part of the project, Janus will receive a $475,000 Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE) tax credit from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC).

“Janus is a great fit to Butler’s industrial base,” said Ron Walter, mayor of Butler. “The company aligns well with our existing manufacturers. We are pleased to welcome them to Butler and look forward to having a once empty manufacturing facility become productive again.”
