The Store Room has just completed a major expansion of its self storage facility at its Leeds location. The work was completed over a 2 week period in January and was officially opened last week. A number of domestic and business customers have already moved into the new space.

The expansion in Leeds was driven by a major up-turn in demand for affordable household and business storage space in the second half of 2013, which left the Leeds facility (located on the Ring Road at Leeds, 500 yards from the White Rose centre) close to capacity.

The total investment at the Leeds branch is in the region of £200,000 and follows on from The Store Room’s expansion program at its Leicester site, where 10,000 sq ft of new space has also been added within the last few weeks.

The new storage area in Leeds comprises a range of rooms from 25 sq ft up to 1,000 sq ft and the company expects the smaller rooms to be taken by household customers who need storage whilst moving or renovating and the larger units to be occupied by business clients who use the space for equipment, stock, tools or even as a workshop area to run their businesses from full time.

The Store Room’s Managing Director, Jeremy Bradburn highlighted the urgent need for more space at their Leeds facility, “We found ourselves short of space in 2013 and we therefore added more rooms in January of this year. The local economy has definitely picked up since August 2013 with local businesses and people moving house being the main growth areas. Our enquiries and customer numbers are up significantly year on year which shows us that the local Leeds economy is starting to pick up and this gives us great confidence for the months ahead.”
