Third Generation INSOMNIAC® Self Storage Software Offers Greater Convenience and Control for Kiosk Rentals

OpenTech Alliance, the PropTech leader in self storage, announced a new release of the INSOMNIAC® self storage software that powers the company’s full-service kiosks. This software upgrade will give operators greater flexibility and control over kiosk rentals and simplify self-service transactions for storage customers.
Operators accustomed to the company’s 20 series models will primarily note the addition of remote facility support — a feature that enables a kiosk to take payments and rent units for multiple facilities from a central location. Another key advantage is the integration to SiteLink Web Edition property management software to let the operator retain full control of rental leases and addendums via SiteLink eSignTM. Operators will also gain greater capabilities to customize the user experience to their brand and property needs and simplify login for existing customers.
Customers who choose to rent or pay at an INSOMNIAC kiosk will find greater conveniences at their fingertips to streamline the checkout experience and increase rental conversions — most notably an enhanced driver’s license scanner that auto-fills user information for faster rentals. Kiosk users can also dynamically filter available units to display the best unit type for their rental needs, update account information, and enable autopay on an existing account. Tenants can also choose between an email or text receipt.
Other new features available with this release of the company’s industry-leading self-service software include enhanced transaction notifications and dynamic promotions. INSOMNIAC kiosks will trigger an email notification to the property manager with details of successful, failed and incomplete transactions at the kiosk, as well as when lock bins are empty. Operators can also now add a custom QR code to transaction success pages to personalize and improve the onboarding experience – i.e., direct tenants to download a mobile app, send them to your automated payment portal, or provide other critical property details.
The third generation software is being released in tandem with the new 30 series line — the 230, 231, 330 and 331 — to offer greater choices for reliable, cost-effective tools to help self storage facilities provide full-service support to their customers.
The new software is currently on display at the Self Storage Association’s 2022 Fall Conference & Trade Show and will be available to the general public in Q4 of 2022.
