We’ll be back at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort
The Marriott seems to be the ideal combination of a good value, a convenient location, proximity to shops and restaurants, a super nice beach, an awesome pool, and a very easy walk between the guest rooms and the meeting areas. There are fancier places, but none of them check all the boxes, and all of them are a lot more expensive. I don’t see anyone wanting to come to the unconference if rooms are in the $500 or $700 range per night at the fancier hotels. Keeping the rooms well under $400 has made it easy for people to attend.
There are other islands to explore, but Maui is super expensive, Oahu is overrun with tourists and does not have a mellow vibe, Kauai is also super expensive and there is not much to do. There is nothing to do on Molokai and few places that could accommodate us. There is a ton of stuff to do on The Big Island. You could not see or do all the cool things to do in 5 or 6 trips there. So, that is that.
